During this Q&A we will share experiences and information in the field of IoT networks that unlock devices that are 'outside'. In this context, 'outside' means anywhere in the Netherlands,
outside or in people's homes without using local Wi-Fi networks.

Water company Evides is working on this technology and is taking the lead in this during this Q&A and looking for other organizations that are also working on this to exchange knowledge about it, think of questions like:

  • The vendor lock-in (what if you've chosen a particular network and deployed a lot of sensors; and the network stops or raises the price?
  • Security: what are the security capabilities of the network itself? Does the data pass through secure connections?
  • Balance range and data transfer : choose lower frequency (better range) or higher frequency (more bandwidth)?
  • How do you avoid "white spots" in coverage?

Apply through your organization's Community Officer.
